The Ministry of Manpower RI Ensures Laid-off Sritex Employees Will Receive Holiday Allowance
INISIATIF.CO, Jakarta – The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) RI has confirmed that employees of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (Sritex) will still receive their holiday allowance (THR). However, the exact amount of the allowance has not yet been detailed, as the decision lies with the curator.
“In a coordination meeting held a few days ago, the curator committed to paying THR and severance pay to the employees,” said Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, during a press conference at the Kemnaker office in Jakarta on Wednesday (March 5, 2025).

Yassierli explained that Kemnaker will oversee the distribution of Old Age Security (JHT) and Employment Loss Guarantee (JKP) in the context of the layoffs of Sritex employees. To facilitate the administrative process, a post has been established in Solo along with the local Labor Office.
On another note, Yassierli also discussed the possibility of Sritex employees being reemployed. This is based on the curator’s statement that Sritex’s operations will resume.
“We will explore the coordination mechanism to ensure the option of restarting the factory, thus providing opportunities for employees to return to work,” he added.
Regarding the presence of new investors for Sritex, Yassierli stated that several investors have been in communication with the curator. However, he did not comment further on the possibility of Sritex being acquired by the government.
“Certainly, the curator’s responsibility is to safeguard the assets to prevent their value from declining. Therefore, decisions regarding the assets are entrusted to the curator,” he explained.
Coordinator of the Sritex Workers Union, Slamet Kaswanto, revealed that the decision regarding the reopening of Sritex will be announced within the next two weeks. This was conveyed after his meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday (March 3, 2025).
“We received direct information that the decision regarding the reopening of PT Sritex will be determined in the next two weeks,” he stated at the Presidential Palace.
Slamet also expressed his hope that former Sritex employees could be reemployed and that the factory could soon resume operations.[]
